life changes and hard decisions

We have been upside down in our van for a long time. Since we started FPU we have been trying to do everything we can do to work his plan. Since our van payment is so high we have been trying to get out of it so we can pay more on our debt. So we looked it up on his site and he says if you cant pay off a car within 18mths then to sell it and get a loan for the remainder and a little more like no more than 2k for another car , it says in bold letters this is the only time he will recommend a loan . its funny so we looked at cars on the Internet and found this 1995 Saturn 4dr for $1995 so we took our van in and they were willing to give us way more than we expected for our van and our bank gave us the money so we did it. which means we are $1800 out of debt already its great. we are so shocked at what we are willing to do to make our lives better. and now on the first we will only be $100 dollars away from our small emergency fund which God willing i hope to find that before the first so we will have it all. Praise God. Steven and i have been laughing because for so long i have been so against all of this and now i am the nerd , i love it so much . i have so much peace, we do pray the car is good and will last a year at least . but our van had issues and soon will need about 4-5 hundred dollars worth of work so it is all good. He provides in all ways . we got rid of our cable and then that same day found the kids shows online for free, what a blessing. and we have been reading allot more. and i have cleaned like mad . and decluttering my house . we will soon have a garage sale to make more money for debt.
Praise The Lord! he is good

Congrats on the new vehicle! How hard is it downsizing to a car after owning a van? You won't miss the cable and a month from now you'll wonder why you ever thought you needed it. It is a major time sucker. We do more and spend more time together as a family now that we don't have cable. I hadn't realized what t.v. zombies we'd become until we got rid of cable. Good move!
