Glenda came from Oklahoma to go with me and my family to the dairy farm tour and pumpkin patch . I was a fantastic time. THE kids all loved the playground. And thought the animals were great. We got to bottle feed a calf that was 24 hrs old and they named it milkyway. We watched them milk the cows with the neat machine. They had a great system they would put a different color ribbon on the cow if it only had three good udders or if it was on an antibiotic. That was neat to know. We fed the heifers that were to young to calf yet. they wait till they are two to breed them. They milk them till they are 7months pregnant then after the baby is born. They run lots of test on the milk for bacteria and for antibiotics in the cows so that it doesn't get to us. WE learned alot. Then we went and picked a pumpkin off the vine like it is supposed to be done. AND had an ice cream bar. What a very good day indeed. They also had goats which i love and chickens. Oh yeah we got to pet a jersey cow but it was funny while Cantrell and Liliana were with the cow it stood up and got out of the pen and went potty and the kids thought that was so funny. which made us parents think it was funny.
