A dream come true!

Since i was a little girl all i have ever wanted was to be a wife and mother and i have been blessed with two wonderful children and a wonderful husband , but my heart has ached for more children they truly are such blessings !

But do to a decision made out of fear Steven was broken. and I have regretted it ever since . however there is other ways to increase our family size and it has been a part of our hearts from the beginning! We did meet in an orphanage :) We have talked for years about Adoption , but it has not been the time or one of us just not ready ! so around march we really felt led to pursue the foster adopt program , we are blessed with an adoption lawyer in our church. So we met with him and man are there so many adoption options so we had to digest all of that info. We then contacted some of the foster care agency state and christian, we got papers to fill out , and then we really just didn't have peace and decided after prayer and talking about it we decided it was not time to foster with Steven coming and going alot this next year i was not comfortable going through it alone, there is a lot of heart strings in every ones hearts for that.

So once again i had to lay my dream down it was very very hard for me many tears and prayers, but God is always there to comfort me through it , and encourage me there is something better waiting for us!

about two weeks later Steven went to the medical office to talk to them about getting on the list for a reversal, (which was a surprise to me)and at that time the nurse said would you consider adoption , because she knew of a mother considering giving her child up for adoption, he said of course so , He called and said what would it take to adopt , what a call to get i really thought he was asking for someone else but no he was calling me with a dream come true! i could hardly believe it, SO i called the lawyer and he gave me the number of some agencies that do home studies, I got ahold of Jewish family services they are so kind and sweet. They said it would be $ 1500 for the home study, with at least half down , so Steven and i prayed and looked at the budget we did not have the money at the time i was working on my curriculum for this school year and while organizing my stuff God showed me that i had all i needed except one math book so the money i had set aside for the new school year would help for the adoption so not only i had some money i had a plan for school so two answered prayers. i then sold a few book at a book sale, we didn't have half but we had 450 , I called Jewish to see what would take the most time since Steven was leaving soon, I told her we didn't have the money just yet that we had the 450 I was amazed she said that's fine we can open your file with that , so set an appointment and went to her office the next day , and started the paper work, lots of back ground checks, finger prints, the autobiography that's the hardest thing to write, but we got them done over the next few weeks and even while we were both away him on a ship me at home visiting family. While we were away the birth mother had her sono gram , but the day she had that was the last we heard from her she was gone, it was hard to face that we had lost our baby but we were not for sure about anything nothing about adoption till the very end, is final. so we waited till we got back to seek any more into it there was nothing we could do ,when we got back all we had to do was physicals , a home inspection and Steven interview i had done mine before i went home.

When Steven got Home he was able to check into what had happened to our birth mother, Well I'm sad for us but happy for them they have decided to keep the child , i totally understand, through the whole wait i really felt the Lord tell me he has a plan ,he step of the way he has held us , through my physical being so great my hbgla1c was better then it had been since i was last pregnant, each little detail down to stamps on papers being fixed without my doing anything , it was already done after i had been afraid it wasn't, and listening to the radio about how there is more joy to come after the pain and mourning, there are many details God has put all together, this week we had our home inspection , we passed and she said we could tell people we are approved and start marketing ourselves so if you hear anything about a child who needs a loving family please remember us!! We do not know what is next and what we are to do but we are trusting in the Lord to guide our steps.

What a roller coaster! How long is your home study good for? Do you get to send it out yourself, or does the agency hold on to it? What a process you've been through. I don't think we could have done the whole adoption process if it had cost us that much money. If you do find a birth mother, do the expenses increase from there, or is this it?

Let us know how it goes!
